Canyon Ranch Lenox is an all-inclusive wellness resort in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. It's best for people who want a structured but flexible health break that mixes fitness, spa time, health consultations and all-inclusive meals.
What it's like
Canyon Ranch Lenox sits on Kemble Street in Lenox, a classic New England town in the Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts. The estate is home to the historic Bellefontaine Mansion, and the resort has been running as an integrative wellness resort for over 40 years.
The idea is simple: you check in, and almost everything you need for a healthy few days is already included. That means all your meals and snacks, more than 35 optional activities every day, swimming pools, spa amenities and your room. Round-trip transportation is included too. You choose how full or empty to make your days, from back-to-back classes to long afternoons in the spa.

The programs
Services fall into four areas:
- Spa and beauty. Massages, body treatments and beauty services.
- Fitness and movement. Classes and activities, plus pools and aquatic activities.
- Health and performance. Health services and testing with Canyon Ranch specialists.
- Mind and spirit. Services that support mental and emotional wellbeing.
The main way to book is a flexible "Stay Your Way" visit of two, three or four nights, which comes with service credits you can spend on spa treatments and wellness services. Longer stays are possible.
Canyon Ranch also runs themed retreats through the year, such as a strength and fitness week, mindfulness weekends and seasonal events. The best known in midlife circles is M/Power, a menopause and perimenopause retreat led by Dr. Somi Javaid, a board-certified OB/GYN. The next listed edition runs over three nights in February 2027 and includes a DEXA scan for body composition and bone density, a women's hormone panel, a virtual physician consultation, talks on hormones, sleep and sexual health, strength training and contrast therapy.
Food
Meals are included and served at the resort's restaurants, with a focus on seasonal dishes made from fresh ingredients. Snacks and drinks are also covered.
Who it suits (and who it doesn't)
Lenox works well for people who like structure with freedom, solo travelers who want plenty of group activities, friends traveling together, and women looking for expert-led support through perimenopause and menopause.
It's not the place for a rustic, off-grid or spiritual retreat. It's a polished resort with a full schedule, and the setting is more country estate than wilderness. Tipping isn't expected, and Wi-Fi is available throughout, so it's easy to stay in touch if you need to.
Getting there
The nearest big airports are Albany International in New York and Bradley International near Hartford, Connecticut. Canyon Ranch runs van transfers from both airports and from the Albany train station, which you arrange at least 72 hours ahead.
